Cannot reproduce italics while posting

When you use italics formating through the reply box at the bottom of the thread, it gets formatted. However, when the "more options" button is clicked, italics formatting is applied, preview button is clicked, and then post is submitted, italics formatting is lost.

I have been unable to reproduce this. I type some text, highlight it, click the Italic button in the editor, preview it, then submit it. No problems for me. The italics remain.

Can you help me to reproduce this?

Weird. I still can't reproduce this problem on my forum.

Maybe it's due to an addon or style customization. I suggest trying to reproduce this on the default style with your addons disabled.
