I wonder if there is an add on that can strip affiliate codes and tracking parameters from links, that users post.
Background:
On our forum affiliate links are not allowed and, being non commercial, we don't add those either. Further more we care for data protection. Relatively often when users post links to products they simply copy and paste and this way a whole armada of unwanted tracking parameters or an affiliate code comes with the links sometimes. Today I even had the case that a user posted a link that he probably copied from somewhere and it was shortened with a link shortener but expanded to an affiliate link with loads of tracking parameters.
As it is time consuming and somewhat unrealistic to maintain this manually reliably by editing the links I am wondering if an add on exists that can do the trick.
