As an aside, here is another vote for more "official" XF addons. I will gladly pay for official optional addons too, in order to avoid using outside coder addons.

I love the additions made to 1.5. Anything added to the core that allows me to remove an addon is a good thing in my opinion. Addons are created to fill voids from the core software, why not incorporate them to make the core software better and allow the developers to come up with even better ideas for future additions!

Because there reaches a point that you become "top heavy" on features and it negatively effects the overall performance. Some things, by their very nature are usable on limited sites - so those are better fitted to an add-on than core.
