XF 2.1 Is it possible to make specific threads public in a private forum?

Hey everyone.

I want to make a forum where newly created threads are only visible to the author himself and to specific user groups. That so far is easily done using the permission settings of a forum. Now I want that a specific thread in this forum is visible to all users. How can I achieve this?
