XF 2.3 Is it possible to change the background color of the voting column?

I have started running a couple contests on my new baby forum using a question type thread for voting on the entries. This works well but some of my members don't quite get the voting thing even with ample instructions so I would like to be able to change the background color so the voting function stands out more. As clear as I've made it, they're still voting with reactions.

I have made a couple changes in the app_content_vote.less template to make the voting buttons more visible but I'm not sure that is enough? I don't see how to change the background color in that template or anywhere else I can find.



I did an "inspect" and see the part I would like to change the background color of but have no idea how to change it. I am assuming that if it is possible, it will have to be something in the extra.less template but that's just a guess? Even if it is possible and that's the right template, I wouldn't have a clue how to do it.



In a perfect world, I would like to have the number character of upvotes be green and the downvotes be red but that's asking too much!
