Fixed "Invalid URI supplied" if Akismet key entered incorrectly

As @Stuart Wright has just discovered, if you enter an Akismet key with a space at the beginning, it causes an "Invalid URI supplied" error whenever you try to do anything that requires a spam check.

Perhaps the key could be checked to see if it is valid on entry?

I'm trimming the key now just in case, but I've also changed to ensure we log any Akismet failures that happen to help debugging.
