Peggy I'm really sorry I offended. I like you and I don't want to hurt your feelings.
If you don't mind me explaining, making fun of deepest beliefs is one way of honouring them. Like affectionately teasing soneone you love. The fun says that these philosophies are so strong, so wonderful that humour can't hurt them. I'm sure Jesus is big and generous and humorous enough to enjoy jokes about him. He's such a nice guy solid and loving and not a nitpicker. Passionate, loving, loyal, hot tempered, patient, brave - lovely bloke.
I was making just as much fun of my own beliefs the same way you know. My faith is so profound so real that it doesn't need protecting from humour and actually thrives on it. Laughter being sacred.
So relax love. Let Jesus take care of it. He's a big lad well able to take care of himself.
But I'm worried now - re reading I can't actually see anything I said that insulted Christ. So I'm a bit worried now as good manners are important. Christ may not need protecting but his followers can be sensitive and easily hurt.
Nothing I said was untrue and all of it was about completely serious spiritual matters which I hold in high esteem. The lighthearted style was superficial fun and doesn't mean it wasn't all true, beautiful and wise.
Inanna is a dear and precious to me as Jesus is to you. They are different faces of God. Cat teachers Spider counsellors are also wise and important. Etc
Well I watched the Flash and it's pretty stunning. Would be great if you were stoned.
But not as an entry. Too dominating. It's like it wants to tell you that the project rules the world or something. Reminds me of my son's online games where these huge flashing monsters crash about with impossible weapons.
I don't like dominance stuff so not for me.
Could be nice as a clickable option as an artistic display inside the site. But psychologically placing it at the front is just about expressing dominance attitudes.
Doesn't suit a religion of love and peace.
It was impressive work, but a little too long and a doesn't really match the site content IMO. Although, if they are trying to get to the next generation and start up a whole new view on things for their religion, then this 'over the top' would work. They say "Go Big or Go Home!", right?
There's no solution to this one.
There are different Jesuses on the historical record. None exactly match the bublical person but specialists in the Christian churches know which one was the right one for their religion that bears his title..
To some Jesus is God. To some a Teacher. To some a composite historical bundle of many fragments put together. To some a symbol - and of many different sometimes conflicting things - peace and love, the sword of righteousness etc.
To some Jesus is a fantasy, a fiction. To some a powerful story. To some a model that has shaped laws and culture as part of the great dominating European empires as they spread across the world..
Best just leave it at that. There is no resolution of the differences by rational argument.
Smaller differences - what exactly a word meant that the record gives as his sayings, yes we can argue that out. Or what the Christos symbol means to different people.
But fiction or real? that's a matter of faith; and at that point logical enquiry and argument stop. It's a different kind of truth.
