Im getting sick of waiting for my host to set up the ftp for a new site im going to install my xF on that I bought this week.

Am I allowed to install it on another domain (on the same server), set it all up, create the rooms etc, then when the ftp is setup, download all the files and upload to the new domain. I assume theres some urls to change in the admin cp? Also in the database? Will it break the install if i try it? Am I allowed to do this? (I'll edit the domain name in my user account here to reflect the upload domain name, then the permanent domain name)

All you need to change in the ACP is the Board URL in Options.
    Everything is relative to that.

I actually built my install locally and then uploaded it to my server, changing just that, FTPing the files and importing the SQL database.

If you're interested, try installing XAMPP (or one of the other app's) and doing a local install.
