Moved to new domain on same server. DB in old location

I just moved my site to a new domain on the same server but my host didn't move the db. Config.php still points to the old db and the site displays ok. Do I still need to move the db or is this ok?

As I responded to your ticket, if the domain is on the same server (and the site is working) then the database doesn't need to be moved.

I'm in somewhat the same situation, and when I enabled "Use full friendly URLs" for SEO, I began to get an error. Is this a database issue?

What is the error?

If the files were moved, ensure any hidden dot files, especially .htaccess, were also moved.

It's a 404 error. We copied all the files to the new domain, and they're all still on the same server. Everything is still pointing to the database on the old domain, though. I'm sorry if I'm explaining the situation poorly. This is the first time I've ever dealt with something like this.
