Currently, the payment provider system doesn't really work well for providers that require multiple callbacks - such as Stripe's 3D Secure implementation.
Stripe sends a webhook when the 3D secure state is changed, and they recommend they use that to complete the payment request. Unfortunately, XF's payment system doesn't allow for webhooks that change different states - at least not easily.
It would be useful if the payment system could be changed to allow arbitrary callback states and steps.
