Importing forums from vBulletin to Xenforo

I'm a current vBulletin user and after much headaches with the security of the software and lack of support, I've decided that I wanted to switch to a new forum software. I'm currently looking at both xenforo and iPB. One thing I like about xenforo is that it has an importer built into it.

So I decided to create a demo forum to see how it works, and the importing of the Usergroups, Users, Buddy/Ignore lists, and Profile Comments all work. No other data gets imported. I'm worried about the forums not being able to import as a whole.

I'm currently using vbulletin 4.2.2 PL1.

If your host enables remote connections, some data can be imported.

What I mean is that I've successfully imported Usergroups, Users, Buddy/Ignore lists, and Profile Comments.

As far as the rest goes (Custom User Fields, Custom Avatars, Paid Subscriptions, Private Messages, Forums, Moderators, Thread Prefixes, Threads and Posts, Post Edit History, Polls, Attached Files, Positive Reputation, and Infractions) they do not get imported using the internal "Import External Data" under the Tools tab in ACP.

If it is not officially supported, how will I know if the import will actually succeed? This would be a big factor in switching my board.

For the simple fact that thousands of existing customers have already imported.

The importer is tried and tested.

The community here is really excellent at providing support. I would be surprised if they could not help out.

There is also the avenue of support tickets to get help from the mods + devs.
