XF 1.2 Import from IPB 3.4

If I just have a database and no IPB files currently, could it still be imported into xF? I notice that as part of the process, it has a field to state where files are located.

Anything that relies on a file (attachments and avatars) won't import, but most data should come across.

Thanks for the response, I just wanted to make sure that it was possible in the first place. Attachments and Avatars are not a concern.
