Image attachments rotated since the update

Yesterday, I installed the latest update, V2.3.7. When attachments are uploaded to posts or the gallery, they are either rotated 90°, 180°, or sometimes not rotated at all. This problem did not occur before the update.

I tested it here. The same problem as in my forum. The attached photo is upside down.

When I use the "Insert image" icon in the post editor, the image is inserted correctly. When I use the "Attach files" button, it is rotated 180°.

Hopefully a patch is rolled out before 2.3.8.

Is there a previous file we can upload to replace the bad file? Almost all member pics (if not all) are sideways since the upgrade.

I haven't been able to re-produce this on at least 2 sites so far, both with XFMG 2.3.5 -- and I did a few upload tests with various images and couldn't get the issue to trigger, so far?

Everyone with issues, using XFMG?
What sort of optimization settings do you have enabled?
Any other addons that touch image handling?

Just curious if there if there any common denominator aside from 2.3.7 update.

This post above says it happens when attaching the image through 'Attach Files'.
I've tried various sizes and formats, with 0 success to reproduce this on two other sites that have upgraded already. (existing images don't appear to be impacted, at least so far...) This is kind of why I asked if there were any other factors to consider in my other post above.

Tried on my 2.3 forum and here, not finding an issue....perhaps related to a specific mobile/desktop and browser combo?

This photo was taken yesterday with my Pixel 7 running Chrome. No edits.

Won't happen to a graphic or edited photo. Will happen to an unedited photo where EXIF orientation data is not honored. An edited photo resaves to the orientation it is being edited in. Your camera roll has pictures taken from all different orientations (phone positions) and your phone's software corrects this by reading the Intended orientation (via EXIF). This EXIF data (it looks like) is not being honored in 2.3.7.

I upgraded from 2.3.4 where this was not an issue.

I am not using webp. No changes.

Works fine when uploaded through the editor icon but does not through the Attach files button (also affects media gallery uploads).
