I'd like to see more "likes" like this like

Signature changes would have to be stored like status messages which I can see getting very heavy on the server seeing as more than half of people use images in their sig if they even take the time to mess with it. ( I'm probably wrong but I'm a nubcake so deal with my ignorance if I'm wrong, If I am right YAY! )

For old sigs not currently in use and stored in a users profile, a user would have to navigate to that user and if they have permission go through their old sigs and like away. Again I have no clue what I'm talking about so don't beat me up. :)

This could help people decide which signature people absolutely hate and not use it anymore. Either way though I LIKE this idea grant and would support this being a mod along with a signature archive(same type of deal as how status messages are stored) as this would be useless as anytime someone changes their sig it would only be proper to remove likes from the sig as there is no guarantee that users who liked before will like my new one and that would make a whole bunch of mess in my opinion.

I liked liking this for likable reasons...reply if you like.

..... but I have frequently gone to "Like" a Personal Conversation post by someone, and been sadly disappointed :(
I have too...I say since we already have the like system lets use it to the fullest if possible.

I don't believe in liking signatures, at all. The like functionality is used to express, IMO, that you like/agree what somebody has said - content. When you start adding like functionality for everything, they lose their value because likes are just being thrown willy-nilly. (Anyone for a like feature to like my own post before I actually press post reply?)

Also, regarding PCs. Adding Like functionality to them would depend on your reasons for using PCs. If you use PCs for social interaction, why not use a thread? I, personally, only use PCs for private conversations that only concern certain individuals. I guess maybe that's why I'm not seeing why Like would be beneficial to PCs... but I suppose PCs are used by different people for different reasons!

I take your point, but not everyone uses the PC system for just one on one chats or whatever, I have been involved already in quite a few committee type group conversations, and when someone suggests a good idea, it would be nice to have that option... but I can also see it being abused.

Yeah I was thinking committee-type conversations, or mediation-type ones could use the like system. That was the only type of PC usage I could think of that benefits from it.
Good shout ;)

Since we are putting in like proposals, and Mr signature is gaining all the headlines I would love the ability to like quote boxes. I love the colour of the quote boxes I just feel they don't get used as often as i think they should so once I see a quote box it's going to be liked. Not the person, the quote box.

So my proposal, a like link on the right hand side of the box and the like container embeds itself in the quotebox with the text "You, Jane, Tom and 3 others liked .bbCodeQuote" . Thoughts?

I think you have to look at the practical uses of the like system and why people enjoy it so much. It's simple, you like a post, job done.

How would we like signatures? With the constant changing of signatures how would you know which ones were liked? and if a like structure was enforced where would it be displayed? I feel the the practicality of this suggestions needs more thought put into it rather than simply saying i want to like signatures. Why? where? how?
Well sure, if you gotta be practical!:( But I still wanna know if you like my signature.

i reckon we should be able to like avatars ass well. and every postbit can have a div under it, x, x, x, and 4 others like this avatar'

LOL I was going to respond to this then I got lost and say hell no there is no way I can add another like to the like-like-like string without something going pop in my head :-).

Are all of the suggestions threads subject to such derailment? I honestly thought I got lost in the Off-Topic section for a few minutes; it's even more disappointing to find out I wasn't.

lol no Nick they aren't. But we've had fun with this one. Sorry if you didn't see the humor. :)

It's not about finding the humor. But anyways, where do I go to make a suggestion about this site, not the actual product itself?
