XF 2.2 I want to make a part of my forum private and make it "invitation only". What's the best way to do it?

I want to make a different private and unseen category and forum inside of the main forum (or separate from it). What's the best way to do it?

You can make nodes private following this guide - https://xenforo.com/community/resou...user-groups.358/updates#resource-update-16595

There is no invitation function built in though - you would have to manually add the members.

Add a private node, as above, and you can optionally assign a new usergroup to have access to it. Then you can add that usergroup as a secondary choice, for those who you wish to have access. (The easy way) The other way is to manually edit each user, to give them access.

If there's no built in invite system, is there a way via ad-ons?
Or is there a way to make the members able to invite others?

Any form of invite would require an add-on.

Otherwise you can manually add the members to the user group, or use a custom user field so they can opt in.
