i have bought xenforo license

I purchased the XenForo license last year. Now I would like to ask if the annual renewal is $55 and if I am required to purchase it, or if, once the license is bought, the annual cost of $55 is optional in case I want updates or other services. Thank you for your answers

The annual is optional but gets you updates and ticket support (vs. just posting in the forums for support). I usually pay it but sometimes wait until I need it to get an update rather than just paying as soon as it expires.

The license you bought lets you use XenForo for as long as you want. But the latest version you would have access to would be the one released within one year of your purchase. Just check your account and you would be able to see the versions that are available to use.

License renewal is completely optional and gives you access to another year of updates and as mentioned above, support.

yes. it's still best to keep track of what the new versions come with. security updates are important. sometimes a feature or bug fix might also make sense to update. so it's completely up to you when you want to renew your license.

as mentioned, upgrade when you feel you need something the newer versions give you.
if they do not give you anything you think you need then you can continue running the latest that offered while your license was valid.
as an example i am not upgrading right now as 2.3 does not bring me anything that i need or can use.
when 2.4 is released i will then look at paying a renewal then if i have not migrated to another option.
