XF 2.1 How to install using Plesk

I've been trying for days now to get xenforo up using Plesk. I have no idea how to do it,
it's nothing like using cuteftp which is just name and password and away you go.

Please someone give me some understandable instructions how to upload xenforo to Plesk

I've signed into that but can't for the life of me see how to use it. When you click on FTP it just comes up with the sign in page/make an account
page again.

I probably sound rather thick but at almost 80 years this seems so difficult that I need some step by step instructions

You should see this button:

1576075365559.webp

Click on it, you can see your current FTP user, click on it:

1576075436484.webp

Then, you can set your ftp password here:

1576075495572.webp

Then, you can use an FTP Client (like FileZilla for example) to upload the files using the credentials that you set. Be sure to upload the files to the /httpdocs directory

It's the same name but .com, as soon as can get this up and running will close down the .co.uk

FTP seems to be working fine and all the files show but the url/install says site doesn't exist and using the IP/install says server error
Any suggestions please ?

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at root@localhost to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

The log says

AH00124: Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error.
Use 'LimitInternalRecursion' to increase the limit if necessary.
Use 'LogLevel debug' to get a backtrace.

I've no idea what any of that means. ??

First of all, you uploaded the files to the /httpdocs directory and not / right?

Secondly, can you elaborate on the site not existing issue? You are supposed to access the site via the URL and not the IP, so I want to see exactly what it says

Your HTTP docs folder is likely empty. This is where your XF install should og, assuming you have a site set up in plesk. If you have switched from .com to .co.uk, you will need to add this variant as a site.

The site we have now is the one in my signature on a different hosting server.

What we want to do is get the site up and running using a .com url so nothing to do with the .co.uk we have at present.

I know it must be me but I've uploaded a few times and the files and folder show in the httpdoc folder but going to the url/install
just come back with nothing so obviously it's something I'm doing wrong or not understanding.

Is there a way to clear out the whole lot and start again please?

I can format my own pc and start over, surely something similar can be done on a VPS.

Wiping the files you uploaded won't help if you just upload them to the same location again.

As stated above, the files must be in the wrong directory, or the server hasn't been configured with the domain, etc.

I suggest creating a simple text file and uploading that to where you believe the public html/http docs folder to be.
Once you have confirmed the correct location on the server, the XF files can be moved there.
