how to hide user-avatar .jpg image ?

I am running a private community and just discovered that user-avatars are visible to guests or at least to search-engines. Meaning the images are not hidden at all if somebody would knew the URL to the image.

Is there a way to hide the images from the avatar-image-path like e.g. this:

The images are still directly accessible via URL though. Erich37 doesn't want that.

Avatars are meant to be requested directly like that. This is the normal behavior. Restricting direct access requires some doing (addon).

hmmm...

so when I change the settings in ACP at:


ACP > User > Privacy Tab > View this user's profile page details:


when I change the Privacy-settings from "All Visitors" towards "Members Only", the Avatar-image (via the image-path) is still visible by guests.

This is not a great deal of Privacy

Sorry, but XF lacks a bit in this area ......... room for improvement.
