How to get rid of Staff member section on members page

Eek. I needed a special banner for certain members and didn't want to turn on banner stacking, long story I posted about it elsewhere. So I decided to use the staff banner and edited the wording and manually applied it to anyone who made a donation. I removed the staff member widget from the forum page because I'm not actually using the staff banner anyway so I'm using it for the donation banner .All fine until I just noticed on the members page that they're all listed as Staff members there, on the Members page lists So I want to remove it, can I do that? Or at least change the heading from staff members to something else.

Wait are you using a staff group as a regular group?

I'd highly suggest creating a different group for that. Just set the Display styling priority to a higher value than the registered group. Then assign users to that group instead.

So for example I have registered users with no banner, then pronouns as an group they can get using the promotion, then admin and mod banners. Because of the Display styling priority (which for staff groups is 900 and 1000) mod and admin banners appear above the pronouns which have a Display styling priority of 100.



Once another group is created, just select the user, and manually set them to it here in the user settings:

To answer your question though, in your admin control panel, you click on users->Member statistics then you can disable it here:

Thank you! I knew there must be a way somewhere That's solved it thanks. OK so I have banner stacking off, I tried promotions without banner stacking to get the extra banner for the donating members - everyone has one banner but it wasn't working out and I needed a second banner for the donators So I decided to just use the staff banner which wasn't being used as a staff banner Change the wording Remove the widget from the forum and manually ticked add member as staff in their accounts to anyone who donated So they got a nice new shiny banner as well as their normal banner. and kept a list of people I'd added it to in case I have to manually remove them in future. But I didn't realise they 'd all show up as staff members on the members page! Anyway I've turned it off now and thank you very much.

No worries Glad it helped. If you want to search for users by a group you can use Users->Search for users and check the secondary user groups your looking for users to have:

Just make sure for styling like that users are in a seperate group, assigning moderating and administrative groups to users for a banner is a big no no.

Thanks. They are all just registered members in a secondary group. Assigning the "staff" banner (now renamed donator/vip banner) hasn't moved them into admin or moderating groups or changed their permissions

To be honest I got so muddled with groups and permissions I just wanted to keep it simple. No banner stacking. Everyone has one banner. If their banner has a different name I open a group for that banner name. But wanted donators to have a second banner
