XF 2.1 How to downgrade an Addon??

I need to check if a previous version of an addon is working ok with some feature not working in the latest version, I need to know how can we downgrade an addon, when we tried we get this msg "Could not process xxxx3.zip: The version of xxxx provided is older than the currently installed version. "

You can't, and it's a bad idea to even try. Even if you had uploaded the old files, there's no way for you to know if the new version made changes to its database tables that are incompatible with the old version.

Pretty much. If possible, restore the site / database / files to an entirely separate sub domain on your server and test the old version there.

This doesn’t apply to all addons, some of them it’s perfectly fine to upload old versions of files manually (not via the addon archive installer), but you may end up severely breaking your site by doing so.

of course i'm taking about a testing enviroment not in production
