XF 2.0 How to create a new position for widgets?

Hello,

I want to create a new position in Xenforo where to put widgets in it.
Does this need a custom code or addon to do that? or I can register a new position in ACP and add position on templates?

Widget positions are really for add-ons to add.

If you want to put custom widgets in a template, you can simply create them and then call them in the template (or define them dynamically in the template).
