XF 1.4 How many threads does the RSS Feeder collect at a time?

Hello,

How many threads does the RSS Feeder collect at a time? It seems to be about 5 per fetch.

Does it change depending on how often the feed is set to fetch?

Can the number of threads it fetches be altered? If so, how? If not, why not?

Thank you.

It will post up to 5 entries (that it hasn't posted before) each time it runs. There isn't any direct configuration surrounding this, though if you have it run more often, that will effectively allow it to post more.

Thanks for your detailed replies as always, Mike.

It is quite common to "seed" new Forums with RSS Feeds from other related sites and being able to set that limit (e.g. fetch only 1 post at a time, every 2 hours), would allow the content to trickle in rather than appear in large unnatural bursts.

With that in mind, do you guys have any plans to make this configurable?

I'm not sure if a suggestion has been made regarding the number to post at a time. On the whole, if you set it to only post 1 at a time, there is the risk of it falling behind and never catching up which may not be particularly useful then. Once it catches up, it will only be posting new entries; if it's posting 5+ in a 2 hour window, getting only 1 every 2 hours would very likely have it being perpetually behind.
