How long does a license last for?

I am planning to buy an XenForo license for a huge up-coming market place, so i was wondering how long do they last?

Once you’ve purchased a license you can use the software forever. The initial purchase includes 12 months of support and upgrades. After that 12 months, you can continue to use the software but if you require additional support or upgrades then you can renew for an additional 12 months from $40.
