XF 2.3 How do you turn off Direct Messages?

Could anyone help, please?
I need to turn off all hidden, Direct Messages on my site - but allow communication between main admin and posters.
How can I do this?

I should add - my technical support is unavailable until April - if anyone with xenforo experience - and everyone will have reading this - I would desperately like to get some technical help at the moment.

You can disable messages by using permissions. I believe there are 2:
Can start messages
Can reply to messages

If you turn off can start messages for everyone then people can only reply to messages that are sent to them (eg by admin)

Anything else will require addons. To my knowledge.

To the best of my knowledge, what you are asking is something that can't be done with XenForo's default permission framework.

Admin Members Regular Members = (Can communicate via Direct/Private Messages)
Regular Members Regular Members = (Cannot communicate via Direct/Private Messages)

Many thanks indeed - but I cannot find Direct Messages at all in my Permissions..

A search brings up nothing -

Thats it apart from some Moderator categories
Yet I definitely have Direct Messages but cannot find them under Permissions.
To make a Direct Message - I click on the user profile and then Start Conversation.

Looks like you have an older version then, conversation is what DMs used to be called.
