how do I create a new custom style?

is there a step-by-step guide of what I need to do in order to create a new custom style ?
I do not want to do anything fancy, just want to create a custom style and change a few colors.

The only thing I would like to do is: change the default colors to my custom colors.
Where do I change this the quickest way?

Log in the ACP.

Select the Appearance tab.

Click on the Styles icon.

Click the +Create New Style button.

Create it as a child of another style or make it a parent itself.

Wait for the templates to rebuild.

Configure the style.

That's a condensed version but really all there is to it.
