XF 2.1 How are edit time limit and the last edited by timestamp linked?

I don't see a way to set these options separately so I assume that

• if a post is edited within the set time limit for editing, there is no "edited by" timestamp: is this correct?
• or is there a way to keep the "edited by" timestamp no matter when the post is edited? i.e., even if it's within the time limit?

There is a small grace period to allow for correcting typos, etc.

Looking into this further, it appears that the Last edit timestamp is applied after 5 minutes regardless of the time limit set for editing the post for a given usergroup.

Is this correct?

I do not believe that is correct my site has them immediately.
