As designed Posting time limit and status update time limit the same?

Maybe this is as designed?

I noticed here on XenForo that if I post in a thread, and then try to post a status update, I get a notice that I have to wait X seconds before posting again.

I assume this is because the post time limit is shared between all types of messages?

Should they be separate, or does it make sense to just use one option to rule them all?

This is as designed, as they're controlled by the same setting in the administrator control panel.

It was a decision to use the same flood check group across types here.
