Hosting ??

I don't know how the people here feel about it, but I've been using 1and1 for a long time now. I haven't been disappointed at all. They have really great support and really take care of their customers. I run their business plan (I think it's 39.99 per 3 months normally, but I have it at 11.97 per 3 months right now.)

They really are amazing, but they are a shared host (well, they have VPS, but I don't use it personally). For VPS, they run 29.99/month for "Up to 2GB RAM", 50GB space, and 1000GB bandwidth. I don't know what you are looking for, but the shared host is amazing.

I have heard many horror stories relating 1and1 in the past, maybe they have really changed since then - When did you signup to 1and1?

Hi,
I would like to switch from Arvixe to a host that does just xenforo? Is there such a thing? I've been with arvixe for a few years now but lately getting tech issue more often. Anyway, I was with a VB only host for my vb forum and just wondering if something like this exist yet for xenforo? Thank you. Gabby

Nimbus specialise in forum hosting and a lot of us have XF sites hosted with them. I've never seen anyone say anything negative about them on here.

TY Rob,
They are a little steep in price. This forum I need hosting for is brand new and extremely slow (on purpose) so I don't want to pour a lot into hosting until it gets busier. I just want to keep in online now but do need reliability.

Hello Gabby,

I apologize for any issues you have experienced with your hosting account. Could you email or PM me with your billing username or hosted domain name so we can take a look at the issues you have experienced and see if there is anything we can do to resolve them / stop them coming up again in future.

We do value every one of our customers and I would love to work with you one on one to see if their is anything we can do to keep you at Arvixe.

*waves at Gabby* I will be happy to answer any questions you have. Feel free to either post them here or start a private message with me.

Hi Mike,
I'm gonna try your service in the near future. For now, Arvixe has worked closely with me to resolve the login issue and it was resolved. I believe it was a known bug in Cloudfare I think??? I have six websites and three forums:)() that I still need to launch. Oh lucky me.

Thank you to both Arvixe and Mike for helping out and offering to help out! VERY MUCH appreciate it.

Sounds good, will be here whenever your ready.

I must admit though I'm a bit confused how Cloud Flare could cause a login issue as they are simply a proxy service. Hadn't noticed it on the bug list either being a authorized CF host partner. Thanks for the heads up though as I will indeed look more into it now since it effects xF. @Mike are you aware of any CF bugs effecting xF?

I will be happy to answer any questions you have.
What is "premium bandwidth"? It must be important, since you make "premium" bold and green.

I only ask because the people I work with, we have been known to joke about premium bandwidth on occasion. Something about "wrapping a $0.75 Hershey bar in gold foil and charging people $3.25 for it." That kind of thing. Get it?

Well, it seems funny to us. But we might be cynical. I don't know. Honestly, it's hard to tell if you yourself are cynical. You sort of need someone else to tell you. The benefit of distance and all that.

Fair enough question. Premium bandwidth is bandwidth by only top shelf carriers like Sprint, Nlayer, C&W.. etc. It has no bleeding in the mix from carriers like Cogent or XO, which is pretty common to do to cut cost on transfer.

No bleeding in the mix? Wow, you don't say.

I don't know how I've never heard of such a thing, bleeding in the mix. But what do I know.
