Hi. I have a forum that is being "hosted" and the company is MIA and the site is down pretty much..

what are my options..?

I do not have remote access from a SSH , just a C panel which I cannot access due to server not up.
the hosting site is parasitevps.com- a local guy on XF who was helping with the site but isnt on here for over 1 year..

it was a private guy from this board - eqnoble with parasitevps.com -- mia now for awhile ... I tracked down his email and phone number and sent him a message

I really hope he does reply to you. Otherwise without a full backup I’m afraid you would have to start over from scratch on a new host.

If you have admin control panel access, one could write a script to at least get user data off so if you had to start from scratch you would at least be able to email members or reimport.

Weve had to do that a few times when people used hosts that weren't reputable and went missing or just wouldn't give a database dump. So hope maybe not lost entirely, depending.

This is why I built my own server to host all my own stuff! I'm in control, I open and close ports that seem worthy. I used to suffer from shared hosting when someone abuse their privileges it affected my website! Although my site is dead for quite some time I still enjoy designing stuff and playing with the addons peeps make here, I feel I can help by giving my feedback but yeah my website is totally dead! I also run 22 game servers from the same server that aren't always dead...
