Change the permissions for the two directories as instructed.

You should not worry about it. Xenforo provides very detailed documentation on almost anything. And their staff provides great support on the forums too. So all you have to do is read up on the documentations, and should there be anything that you do not understand and need help with, post here and I am sure someone will help you out.
