XF 1.5 Header Image - Scale

I'm wondering what is the correct way to scale the header image? Obviously this is a simple task to do when applying to an image, but I'm not sure how to do it when I'm playing with a background.

Using cover seems to scale it only to the original size, and then overflow comes into play. width 100% height auto also doesn't seem to work.
Thanks, but that's not what I'm after.

The CSS for making an image scale when it's a background image isn't the same as if it were a simple image.

I want to know how to change the BG of the header DIV to scale like it would if I set width 100 height auto on an IMG.
