Instead of the "Search Resources" "Most active authors" "Watched Categories" etc. showing up in the drop down menu when you click on Resources on the top Forum menu bar - is it possible to have the categories show up?
This would either require custom development (to pull the categories dynamically, respecting permissions, etc) or at least a template edit to change the navigation sub-links to what you want (which would replace what is there).
