Whoa, I heard it's some 50,000km closer but when you actually see it in the night sky, it seems ALOT closer than that, what a spectacular sight, if you haven't already, I'd suggest venturing outside and taking a look see. Oh yeah, and post some pics!

I've been out with binoculars tonight, the moon is a stunning sight as usual, and the exceptional proximity makes it all the more so. :)

There's an extremely clear and sharp view of the moon from outside my window, it's beautiful.

    Shame I don't have a proper camera.

Remember that the moon is illuminated by sunlight, so if you can use a manual mode on your camera, you need to set it to use the correct exposure for a sunny day - around 1/100s at ISO 100 f/16 will get a good exposure of the moon.

Thanks Kier, I`ll try that. I used 1/150s ISO 400 and f/8 before.

    14% is quite a bit...

Sadly, weather is overcast, so absolutely nothing to see :/

Look especially at 2:21 - Holy hell, if I saw the moon at that size I think I'd die.
