The most impressive Version of a note addon I've ever seen is the one of Burning Board.

I might look into expanding mine to that level, but for now it's basically the same functionality wise as the MyBB core feature.

It could look suspicious, especially if you have a policy banning multiple accounts

It's useful if you need to do copying and pasting for a thread you update frequently and find it faster than waiting for your document to open (Open Office takes a while to open, for example).

Holy crap this is cool. I use Better Blogs by @Rigel Kentaurus to post notes sometimes too since you can set them as private that only you can view.
