Has Elon Musk lost his mind or?…

British Ledbydonkeys together with German Politicalbeauty framed it pretty well at the Tesla Gigafactory in Berlin:

Teslas sales in Germany dropped by more than 40% in 2024 - partly because of the end of the subsidies, but the whole EV sales in Germany dropped only by 23%. Due to Elons behavior "Tesla shame" has started and after his latest series of stunts it is to be expected that these will negatively effect Tesla's sales in Germany. First companies have already said that they no longer accept Teslas as company cars.
In the meantime Ledbydonkeys and Politicalbeauty have posted another piece of art in terms of Musk supporting rightwing extremists and fashists:

This includes a 5min video absolutely worth watching (if you are short on time the first minute will give you more then enough evidence already).

You're just continuing to double down on your ableist stance, especially after Musk has addressed the movement.

I think that's against the terms of service for spreading hateful content. But, what do I know.

I think you've lost control. Did you write this post while looking in the mirror? As said before:
You lack any arguments - all you are able to do is insult other people.

i find it funny how many of those that appear to support the radical right fall back to personal insults.

I just caught this thread and have only read the first page.

What Elon has done with Twitter, now X, is genius. Pure genius. And ironically revolutionary. A platform based on Free Speech.... in a world full of censorious social media. Shazam!

As has been said, "WE are now the news media." Traditional news media is DEAD. Legacy media is dead. They scuttled their own ship.

X is thriving. Other social media platforms like censorious Facebook (which admittedly colluded with the Biden administration to infringe the 1st Amendment) are properly dying. I left Facebook four years ago for that very reason after being VERY active. I left a ton of friends and family behind, since that is the ONLY way most of them communicate now. But I could not abide the state-directed censorship.

I vaguely remember that, but wasn't it just about moderating misinformation? What happened as a result? Collusion to infringe an amendment sounds likeable very serious crime.

Zucc explained the process. I'm sure it will be investigated, and those in the FBI who did put pressure on FB should face charges for failing to abide by their oath. I'm sure there are tons of emails from @fbi.gov that Meta will put up that'll corner everyone. I hope they face charges and lose their government pensions too.

FBI agents take an oath of office that includes the following key components:
  1. Support and Defend the Constitution: Agents pledge to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
  2. Faithful Execution of Duties: They commit to faithfully execute the duties of their office.
  3. Truthfulness: Agents promise to tell the truth and uphold the integrity of the FBI and their position.

"Misinformation" is protected by the 1st Amendment in the USA. Of course any private entity can engage in censorship. The 1st Amendment does not apply to private entities. It applies ONLY to the government. And no matter the subject, Prior Restraint by the government is unconstitutional on its face.

So, what happened was the Biden administration TOLD Facebook what to censor / delete. And Facebook complied. This is openly admitted by both parties. That (legally) makes Facebook an agent of the government, and NOW the 1st Amendment applies. The so-called "misinformation" that was censored on FB (during the covid hysteria) turned out to be 100% true... of course. Regardless, there has been no accountability for the 1A infringement. That's a problem for many of us Americans. It's one of the many reasons the recent election went the way it did.

Zuck knows this and is RUNNING that policy back, now that there is a new administration... and the fact that he's getting his ass kicked by X. :) Nevertheless, I don't trust Zuck as far as I could throw him. I don't believe him. He's a "fair weather friend" and a tyrant at heart. I wont be going back to Facebook.

Fact: Twitter has become a platform of yelling, threatening, hate speech, disinformation, trolls, russian bot accounts, crypto scams, porn, only fans advertisments, drop-shipping advertisments and many things more. If that's what you prefer and like - your choice.
As has been said, "WE are now the news media."
There has already been Grok and truth social to serve as a biotope of the right wings and their preferred style of "communication". Seems they need others that they can insult and threat to be happy. Your so called "free speech" is nothing but a fake picture to silence other opinions.

This is what your free speech looks like, par example on the inauguration of Trump and the bishop's prey there: Pure hate, threats and outright stupidity.

This comes from a republican member of the house of representatives:

If you consider this as adequate communication from an elected representative you seem to favor a pretty rude culture.

This comes from Trump himself:

This comes from a MAGA mind:

...and 76.000 likes show pretty well how freckingly stupid these people are because the obviously seem not to know what the national cathedral is:

The consequences are threads towards the bishop:

If anyone is stupid enough to make use of free speech (and does not follow the MAGA agenda) this are the consequences:

Traditional news media is DEAD. Legacy media is dead. They scuttled their own ship.
How come that 50% of the posts are quoting or referring "traditional media" then in one way or another? Seems you get a lot of things in the wrong order and most importantly you confuse yelling and silencing others, that don't share your opinion, with "free speech".

If Twitter/X was a cafe barely anyone would visit it because of the audience - not a place to feel comfortable at. If your favorite cafe works like that: your choice. Accept that others may have a different opinion (which seems impossible to accept by MAGA guys).
X is thriving.
Actually, from a business perspective Elon has managed to collapse the financial value of X and no serious company is putting advertisments on X anymore, only really shaddy bussiness do - brilliant. Users are leaving the platform in masses. Especially internationally. Not only what what you defame as "leftists" but also governments, institutions, companies, scientists, journalists and loads of many others. That is your "success" and your "free speech". A safe harbor for American rightwinged haters, bullies and scammers. Your understanding and ideal of free speech seems pretty monotonic.

LOL! I didn't read the rest.... TLDR.

Yes... I am very much an advocate for Free Speech, including yelling, "disinformation," scams, porn, etc.... My position is that it is up to ME to distill what is true and untrue... or what I do or don't want to see. I do NOT want some authoritarian / tyrannical entity making those decisions FOR me. I will always oppose a designated "arbiter" of "truth." I pledged an oath to put my life on the line for EXACTLY that.

A basic tenet of my upbringing... "buyer beware." And that applies to everything.

But I do NOT want someone else to "protect" me. Delegating my "protection" from everything is to surrender my Freedom. Rights cannot be taken. They can only be surrendered. And I won't. And in order to be logically and morally consistent, I MUST extend that same Freedom to others, including those who express untruthful things. It is up to ME to determine and dismiss what is untrue and whether it applies to me. Freedom goes both ways, and it is therefore dangerous. To borrow from Thomas Jefferson: "I prefer dangerous Freedom over peaceful slavery."

Truth to that.

My oath didn't end with time.
Well.... it might end with time in terms of our demise. ;) But the oath does not have a provision for expiration, even after we leave the service.

The oath, which is literally a life and death pledge to defend the Constitution, is NOT a ceremonial platitude.

even after we leave the service.
Your oath was never to the service or allegiance to it (or any other organization that takes a similar oath), as we've seen with DoD mandates for C-19 vaccines, even rot can exist within.

But, I know you understand that.

Correct. A lot of people don't know that. They mistakenly think it's an allegiance or pledge of fealty to a country or person. The oath has nothing to do with the country, the flag, a territory, or even the Commander-in-Chief. The oath is a pledge to defend ONLY the Constitution of the United States.

Here is the entirety of the oath I swore:

"I, _____ , having been appointed an officer in the _____ (Military Branch) of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of _____ do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God."

Sorry for the thread drift. But this is the context of my dedication and advocacy to Free Speech (not to mention the other Rights protected by the Constitution), which includes so-called "mis and disinformation."

Always a good start to join a forum discussion on page 19 with this statement:
I just caught this thread and have only read the first page.
but not bothering about the state of the discussion and straightforwardly putting your statements to it. Even better then answering to a comment with a statement like that:

.. and within only a couple of posts to completely misdirect the thread topic to something completely different. Not only not worth discussing like that - simply impossible. Wondering why you joined the thread at all if you are neither interested in the topic nor in other peoples opinion nor in a discussion - but just want to be confirmed in the opinion you already have.

I was unaware of the rule that one must FIRST read the ENTIRE 19-page thread before posting his first comment. ;)

I've since caught up. Most of it is repetitive, naturally.

Carry on, mate.

If spending $44B (a mere 10% of his net worth) for the sole personal goal of creating a refuge for actual Free Speech is "losing your mind"... Then Elon Musk is MY kind of crazy! He doesn't care if X makes money. He REALLY doesn't. See video below. If I had that kind of money, I'd do it, too!

Note: In years past, I was NOT a fan of Musk. I was very skeptical of his motives. I am still not a fan of EVs and will never own one, not even for free. His rocketry venture is quite impressive, though. His advocacy for Free Speech got my attention and won me over completely. Most geniuses are a bit nuts. My kind of people!

This is when Elon became my "hero."

That's what the left does. They create rules they believe "everyone" must follow, break or bend those rules when it suits them, blame the right for breaking them, deflect or ignore the issue when caught breaking the rules, and then blame you for something else they pull out of thin air. It's like a toddler tangent with these types.

Prime example, which went ignored:

You lack and arguments - all you are able to do is insult other people.
