XF 2.1 Has anyone made Xenforo look like a social site yet?

I'd like to have a setup that mimics the look/feel of Twitter/Facebook, so newcomers are familiar with the site and can figure it out.

I think it's possible if you skin/style the threads and give it a general timeline/newsfeed homepage, rather than a listing of forums/threads.

We already have the ability to do a quick post and tons of features for posting - it's just that the forum "look" is so outdated, that so many of the newer users are not figuring it out, or don't have the attention span to do so.

Xenforo software in general is just so damn good that I don't want to try any of the actual social scripts that already exist, and those I did try, like PhpFox, are just absolutely worthless.

It's a big task, but if anyone wants to chat about doing a custom style like this, I'd be listening for sure!

Cool Social feed. Great idea.

The text area that is 7 full lines seems like alot. Hopefully that is a setting.

It's not a setting, but we can make it one.

I made a second post with the name test123 (it popped up as an option the second time.).

The username "test123" is already taken.

I got this error, where I think I should be allowed to post another one or two and then be prompted with a register suggestion.

Just noticed a couple of bugs... When posting as a guest - there's no indication that your message actually went through - it just does (and lands in the moderation queue as I have things set)... We'll get that fixed in the next update.

Wow that sounds so terrible. How about Forum View.

It can be made into a phrase so the admin can choose whatever they prefer.

It's never good that "new posts" is blank. it should default to latest posts if there are no "new" ones.

The Nissan forum is dead and I only maintain it by keeping the software up to date.

The 7 lines of empty space looks like a lot when you see two posts at the same time.
Do YouTube comments use 1 line ?
3 seems appropriate for commenting. IMO.

For the next update, maybe we'll just set it to 4 and see what most people think. Obviously, there's not much input incoming - and I'm a little uncomfortable making changes without at least hearing from a few people. In any event, unless there's real interest, XenSocial is just something I'm using in my own communities for the time being...
