Guys whats your opinion on new gTlds like .blog?

Nonsense. The internet is EXTREMELY young. It'd be like saying back in 2008 "Streaming music will never catch on, people are too set in their ways with buying direct from iTunes".
Just saying people don't like change. Look at Windows 8, people still hate it why? Because they removed the start button. People get set in their ways. Try telling someone to goto facebook.ninja. They aren't going to they will type facebook.com. (this is just an example) We understand how it works but the rest of the 80% of people don't. People just are use to .coms

Well one of the reasons why new gTLDs are coming out is because .coms .nets .orgs are running out.

It was going to happen, there are only so many words in the language, whether people want to accept it or not, they will just have to learn to deal with it. New GTLDs are the way of the future and only because just like everything, we are restricted by our limited language, the internet is not any different.

It will be interesting to see if many will switch to .forum
I want to buy those .forum domains, but it's friggin' expensive right now. I think eventually, Google will support them the same exact way (ahem, not just weighing it as the same thing as .com/net/gtld's.) I read elsewhere, that google will start allowing domain registrations, these domains will be collateral damage at some point.

When my corporation starts getting bigger; it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when - I will start investing in these domains. But right now, I'm more focused on acquiring sites, and break even to impress investors, shareholders, & whatnot.

Tracy, what are the others? They're useless IMO.
Currently.

Twenty years ago, 99% of the population would have had no idea what superheroes.com meant either.
Likewise 20% of the population in first-world nations believe the internet is only for porn. Usually the much older crowd, but I digress.

I'm not sure I can buy into that argument. I could if we were talking about IPv4.

If thepenguins.com are taken you could get:

themightpenguins.com
[townname]penguins.com
majesticpenguins

And if you hate the team: thepenguinssuck.com or penguinsarepillocks.com

You should. All the good domains are gone. Done. That part is done. It's at a point when ya know... People have to find a crappy domain name just for a dot com.

Either you'll have to be creative with a domain name, or find a crappy domain name. That's it.

One of the ones I'm waiting on is TECH. The TECHNOLOGY is already out, but that's to much to type.

Well, you could also get supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.com (actually it's already taken) but there reaches a point of being ridiculous in the domain name length. I'm all for trying to target them into an appropriate group for what they are (ergo the reason I'm wanting to get a .TECH one).
That's one of the beauties of the new domains... you can get kind of creative with them. Like the new .WTF that will be coming out... I'm sure somebody already has a reserve on hey.wtf... and that would be a creative use of the new extension.

I like the idea of the new gTLD's – TAZ uses (static.)theadmin.zone to serve its static content.

P.S. it was for technical reasons; not for the lulz.

That domain could explode!

I'm all in favor of these new gltds. I hope Google will let them rank evenly. I also hope people will use them for what they should be used and not just squat on it like all the good .coms. granted I don't know what .wtf and .ninja should be used for but the others like tech, forum, blog, and reviews are really nice.

True, plus if I even did register my examples, I'm sure the NHL or the Pittsburgh Penguins would be pissed off.

forum.ninja, php.ninja, frontend.ninja, backend.ninja, and every other cringe inducing name. Thankfully .guru isn't available.

Google's John Mueller: “we currently treat the new TLDs as gTLDs, even if they sound like they may be region-specific (eg .berlin). If, over time, our analysis shows that they're clearly limited to only websites from those regions, that might be worth reconsidering. In the meantime, you should be able to set geotargeting manually for these TLDs”.
