Gmail accounts don't get confirmation email

Users signing up on my 1.4 xenforo with gmail accounts don't seem to be getting email confirmations.

That's an email client problem on your server. Tell them to check the spam folder. Try to test through ACP if you receive emails to other, non @gmaill inbox.
I would suggest using www.mandrill.com for all your emails to avoid problems.
