Getting People to Join Up A New Forum

I hope I'm allowed to do this...

So I've discovered just how hard it is to get a forum started these past couple days. I'm determined to make it work though 'cause I'm passionate about my topic!

Anyways, I found this post exchange program thingy. I don't know if anyone here's heard about it but they have this system where you post on some other forums and earn points that then get people to post on yours. It sounds a lot more complicated than it really is! You also get to screen people based on prior post quality (they have a rating system in place) but then you're cutting down the amount of people that are allowed to contribute to your forum...so I guess it's give an take.
