Best way to get new people to join

have just set my forum up but finding it hard to get members to join

Link to the forum might be useful for a critique. If it is https://steelhousefestivalforums.co.uk/ I would be put off by the main navigation flashing when you hover and the animation WELCOME sign. Not to mention the forum links moving around and animated sidebar.

Nes navigation is a blog? But there is no content.

It's also a bit slow to load sometimes.

So it's worth getting lots of interesting content, reviews etc. Could also be a good idea to do som publicity, e.g. make announcements or leafleting people at the actual festival.
