Best way to "show/display" people who are no longer with us?

Our forum is old (2004). It's based on a game that most of us users played in our early teens, but as is life, people are leaving us well before they should be. We just have random posts that someone who knew them has posted.

I kind of want to do something more / better so these aren't just lost and forgotten in time as more posts get made. I personally don't like the idea of a separate category. Has anyone done anything similar and/or recommend anything that might work?

Thanks

We lost a few too soon as well. I created a RIP member group and move those members to there and put the date as their Title. The skull with the sunset was a tip of the hat to one of the members little girls that lost a battle to cancer.

We skew fairly old ourselves and have lost several members who were there at the beginning in 2014. Similar to @eDaddi, we have an "RIP" group that we add them to and also an "In Memoriam" forum with a thread for each deceased member where people can reminisce, kind of a virtual wake. Since we are an offshoot of a previous site, we do occasionally have In Memoriam threads for members from that site who did not come over as well.
