XF 2.3 Forum won't send emails.....gives server error.

I set up another forum for my lady using my spare license, on her own hosting (NameCheap) and I have an issue with receiving emails. They don't seem to be sending.....

when I test it in the admin panel, i get a server error:


I also didn't get the confirmation email when I signed up and she had to manually activate my account. Please advise?

How have you configured the email transport in XF?

You generally don't want to use a gmail address as your forum email address - you can't set up SPF or DKIM for a gmail address.

I never had this issue before until now. How do I set up email transport? I'm using the built in PHP system.......


Edit: I fixed it. Simply changed the email to the on-site email and it works now without issue.
