For the last two or three days I've encountered a strange issue with the forum listing page here. It's intermittent but I can generally replicate it more often than not.

Untitled-1.webp

I'm using Windows 11 latest build, Firefox 148.0 (64bit) with a cleared cache.

This happens to me many times every day. I often need to click the Forums tab at least 4 times to see the forum list.

Using Firefox with MacOS.

I suspect the issue is with CloudFlare “Performing security verification” function not loading, when it finally loads then the forum list is shown.

Firefox has been buggy for years with different websites especially facebook, which is why I switched to chrome a couple years ago. Hardly ever use firefox now.

Steps to reproduce.

1. Logout of Firefox.
2. Go to https://xenforo.com/community/

at this point the forum list shows.

3. Click the cookie acceptance button.
4. Click the log in tab and log in.

at this point only the header and footer shows, the middle part is empty.

Just had this happen with the latest update of Zen (not sure what version of Firefox it is using currently).

Never happens to me on Chrome. Not on edge either, although less used. I dont use Firefox.

This thread went a bit quiet. Our triager couldn't find any cause for this and I have some theories but they are local to this server, but I'm currently able to reproduce from the steps above on Zen or Firefox.

Does this still happen @zappaDPJ @AndyB @Taylor J?

One of my theories is that I believe at some point we were having some issues with Memcached which we happen to use for our page caching and it's possible that is/was getting polluted with some sort of empty page output due to instability issues which I think we've since resolved.

I suspect if this was a real bug it would be more prevalent and be reported to be happening elsewhere.

We are in the process of migrating to a new server which doesn't utilise Memcached so hopefully the problem just goes away naturally.
