Well, I have this same issue with my own forum (versio 1.4 atm) and this has recently been happening around this board too.
Both of them uses different themes (since I use UI.X and this one has the default) and using Chrome (Version 46.0.2490.86 m atm).
Looks like its a issue with memory since it just happens on this PC from work but anyway. its interesting that I don't know any other website that I run with this kind of problem: When I have low RAM the fonts just disappear.
