XF 2.0 Font Awesome version 5

Heys,

I've noticed that XF2 has only added (locally), support for Font Awesome 4...and using Bootstrap CDN isn't anything newer aswell. Basically I want to add the library manually, how do you advise on doing that, in pagecontainer? Or there's an option I'm missing? I was hesitant adding any exteranal js source to pagecontainer and I've noticed there are some css/less customizations based on font awesome and I'm not sure how this will affect them.

Aside from the fact FA5 was released several weeks after XF2, it requires extensive changes so it’s not something we’d consider until XF2.1.

Its not backwards compatible. It can't be added by replacing link to font and making few other changes. Think of it as completely different font, not update.

ya, seems so had no idea it's so "rooted" in XF
