You could create a dismissible notice that only shows to the promoted usergroups.

This is actually probably the easiest solution for what the OP was originally wanting - which I should have thought of because I actually use it myself for different user groups.

Or create notices which are displayed on the account_upgrade_purchase page targeted at the user groups linked to the upgrades.

In summary (because this should have been a question thread)... as a user, I purchased a user upgrade but don't know how to access what I just purchased? For example, the new nodes and resource that are available to me.

There are several ways to achieve the above. The best solution for us:

As @Brogan edit the information on the thank_you_for_purchasing_this_upgrade page (eg. links to help pages).



Because they only see that page once, send them a message with the same information with this addon:
