Browser issue Failed to register/update a ServiceWorker

Affected version

The version currently being used on xenforo.com - XF2.2

I get the following errors looking at the Web Console.

Using Firefox on macOS.

As stated in some of the messages, this is down to your own security settings.

Either you are in "Private browsing mode" or you have cookie settings changes. Apparently it is a feature within Firefox that service workers are blocked if you have the following setting enabled:



Some other cookie settings may achieve a similar effect.

You can workaround the issue by setting an exception for xenforo.com:




It doesn't currently look possible to suppress the errors in code.
