Facebook registration?

Hi guys,

Just trying to set up the ability for people to register with facebook... and it seems that their app page has changed since the Help entry was written.

http://xenforo.com/help/facebook/

The above page recommends going to http://www.facebook.com/developers/apps.php. however clicking that link takes you to...

https://developers.facebook.com/

A page which does not have the ...

"Click on the + Set Up New App button." etc etc etc...

Option we are told to take on the help page.

Can someone advise how to do it now.

Perhaps this page -> https://developers.facebook.com/apps

There is a button to create a new app there in top right.

I must be blind, as I cannot see anything of the sort on that page... there are 4 options.

Websites (I assume it is in here somewhere)

Apps on Facebook (dunno what this means or does)

Mobile Apps

The top right has a button with "Register as a developer" on it.

Register as a developer. Then go to websites -> use facebook to login with your website *or something like that*
the rest should be the same as explained the help docs/on the forum

Very annoying I must say.

Pages and pages of info they want or I have to read before I can do so, and I am not a developer, have no interest in being one, just want people to be able to use Faceache to register.

Facebook changed their interface up... the help page has not been updated I guess.

After registering as a developer
go to http://developers.facebook.com/apps
click 'create new app' button on the top right somewhere

This pops up
Name it something. Don't fill in namespace and do not check off web hosting (derp)


Then you'll be taken to a page with your APP ID and Secret.


*disable sandbox mode*


Type in your forum URL


Got to your forum AdminCP > Options > Facebook Integration
Fill out


with what you saw on facebook

Thanks for your help too Tracy.. yes it seems the Xenforo page needs updating... or a way of bypassing this process, it does seem convoluted.

Having said that, I HATE facebook with a passion, and don't really use it or understand it, so concede that it might be me just "not getting it"
