XF 2.1 External ../ Smiley Path - Bug?

I migrated XF 1.5 to 2.1.8. In our old Forum we had a external smiley folder in Webroot. In XF 1.5 the URL was ../smileyfolder/smiley.png
If user in XF 2.1.8 save his post with a smiley XF show error message. I changed all smiley path to https://domain//smileyfolder/smiley.png Thats works. Why XF have a problem with ../path??

Due primarily to changes with the base path system, URLs to things like smilies have to be canonicalized before use and we don't generally support ".." in this process. If there are issues, changing to an absolute path (with or without domain; you can just specify the path starting with "/") will resolve it.
