RM 1.1 Expand hierarchy tree by default?

When using parent/child categories, is there a way of having the hierarchy tree expanded by default in the RM menu sidebar instead of the user first having to click the parent category to expand it?

I don't believe the raw data gets exposed to the template, so that would require some code changes.

Thanks for the info, Mike. For the site in question I'm trying to KISS as much as much possible so instead of playing with any code changes I'll just keep all of the categories at the top level.
